EP 54 (ENG) - Going through a gender change as a teenager - with Adrian
Monday Apr 22, 2024
Monday Apr 22, 2024
Episode special! I am honored to have Adrian on the podcast for this conversation.
Adrian is a transmale, born female, is 16 and agreed (with his parents) to talk to me about his gender change process and his ADHD.
I asked him several questions like his transition process, how he talked to his family, how he managed to juggle his teenager life with these questions of identity.
If he ever met transgender people, if he made some research himself. How it is in school?
Then we talked about the diagnosis of his ADHD and how he deals with it on a day-to-day basis.
Of course we finished off with the 3 last questions!
I encourage you to share this conversation! To be graceful, empathetic.
It is not easy to open up like Adrian did.
Thanks to him.

Today I sat down with Julia, a photographer from Mississipi, and together we talk about passion, purpose and creativity.
How she manages to be creative with 2 feeding jobs? What kind of art does she do?
She told me something challenging about herself and her family that impacted her personal life and how she actually sees life.
We talk about impressing people and why we do that. What does that represent?
She shares with me her biggest fear. And I love her answer!
And of course, we finished with the 3 last questions as usual!
Share this episode if you liked it!!!

CONVERSATION IN FRENCH & RECAP IN ENGLISH AT 56mn28s
It's an episode I loved doing! Cause Amandine and I are both comedians AND single AND over 35...
So, Amandine is a standupper, French, designer, and we decided to talk about love.
What is hyperindependance? How do we feel being single in 2024, in our 30's? How do we feel getting older and still being single?
And she's telling me some dates stories that are funny and unbelievable!
Have a listen of the recap and if you understand a bit of French, listen to our conv!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comment on voit l'avenir?

DISCLAIMER: On this one we touch a bit about suicide. So please be aware and accompanied when you listen if you struggle with it.
I sat down with Matt Lowe, a standupper, comedian and actor who appeared on an episode of MTV Catfish.
He suffered from obesity, gaining weight to reach 610 pounds. Went through gastric bypass surgery to lose some, but because of poor mental health, went back up to 580 pounds.
So in this conversation, we talk about how mental and physical health are linked, how he went through one of his darkest times, and how he woke up to actually choose a healthier life.
We talk also about his career as a standupper, his experience on MTV.
Have a listen! It's a fun one! And honest one!

We're back with another conversation!
This time I sat down with Anna Denis, an author who was cited in Essence Magazine in 2007. She wrote 'Who will hear my screams'. She's a mum, an account executive also.
And together we talk about her process of writing, how she got into writing books. But also, how she deals with the blank page as an author. What is litterary success for her?
We keep going with the famous questions and among them her answer to 'What people don't understand about you?' is more connecting to me than I thought it would be.
Have a listen to this episode and share it with your world!

One of my favourite conversations!
Anushree is a beautiful, talented, funny Indian American, queer, comedian. And in that conversation, we talked about how to fight for yourself when you come from a traditional family. Her family always wanted her to become a doctor, so when she quit, it was a problem.
She's been juggling her life with a career in clinical drug monitoring and her love of improv comedy.
As a queer woman, it is hard to be surrounded by people of trust, especially when your environment was from an indian community.
We realized we had a lot in common and that's why we had so much fun doin it!
Listen to the whole convo guys!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is it about?
This podcast was created with the idea that we can be friends for long and still have deep conversations, or on the contrary, never talk about intense topics. It's still friendship either way. But maybe, this will open more conversations, to think, rethink things..learn or even..unlearn.
We talk about arts, career, parenting, loss, life itself.
Come listen and let us know what you think.
Who are they?
For these first few episodes, I asked some of my dearest friends to be part of this journey. They said yes and I can't thank them enough.
Remotely, in person, they were present to talk about stuff that means a lot to them, to us.
To you, my guests, thank you.
Amy
